Why I (mostly) only throw Innova discs
Переглядів 3,5 тис.Рік тому
Let me STOP you from commenting now what you were gonna say: this is not a RECOMMENDATION VID, this is ME, sharing with YOU, how I think about discs. That being said, I urge you to watch it :) Will I love discraft next year? Move down to Texas and start throwing some Lone Star Discs? Quite mabily. But for now, I'm more focused on playing (and Vlogsmas) than I am switching discs, so here we are....
How do you know what goes in and out of the bag? - Disc Golf
Переглядів 1,2 тис.Рік тому
There are many philosophies and what to put into your bag, what NOT to put into your bag, how to BUILD your bag, and most of them are complicated. Mine is simple. THIS is how I think of what discs to put in your bag, and I think you should at least TRY thinking this way too. K? K. DAY 17/25 BABY. Instagram: bensbigdrive

Ever since Jesse @TrashPandaDiscGolf was kind enough to send me a couple of his discs, I knew I must return the favor by putting them in the basket. (do yourself a favor and visit trashpandadiscgolf.com/ to buy them btw). This proved to be harder than I expected. This is the journey of ups and downs, more downs, and even more downs, but one shot is all it takes, and BY GOLLY we were determined ...
How to get rid of tournament stress - Disc Golf
Переглядів 763Рік тому
We all know how stressful playing a tournament can be. Many weekends, I found myself saying "why did I pay money to be up this early and to be this stressed out?!" WHALE, I bet you've said the same thing too. BUT, there is a way that you can prepare for a tournament that will allow you to make great decisions, avoid the ups and downs that destroy your score, and MOST IMPORTANTLY win more tourna...
Improve from EVERY field work session

There is nothing worse than leaving a "field work" session and feeling like you're the same (or worse) than before you started. That's why I've developed this plan for my own field work, so that I KNOW, at least I have made some sort of progress, as little as it might be, every time I hit the field. How to PRACTICE - Disc Golf
Переглядів 2,3 тис.Рік тому
Unlike many other sports that we grew up playing, many of us disc golfers don't have a coach or a team that can structure a practice schedule and assure that we are always getting better. That's why I've started this mini-series to show you how I structure my practice time, so that I am ALWAYS making progress, if even in small amounts, so that you can stop wasting practice time, and find yourse...

I've been following Jesse from Trash Panda from the beginning, and I couldn't be happier to throw the first disc release, and as you'll see, it's baggable a SUPER fun disc to throw 😍 But what's even more than throwing a disc is throwing it into the basket in ONE THROW. What should your Release Point look like? - Vlogsmas Day Ten

Today is day 8 of Vlogsmas, but MORE IMPORTANTLY, today is DAY ONE of the BACKHAND REHAB series, with our resident nose-up thrower LUCAS. I think even better concept to understand this is spring that is twisted. One end is attached that is your front foot braced and then you start unload that tension from the bottom to the top- hips, shoulders and then your arm pulling through

I think, starting out as a much younger man, Innova had the coolest stamps and names and that was really attractive. It's like any relationship, looks has a lot to do with it. After youve learned the discs, grown to love them It's really hard to change. Now in my 40s, 90% ot my bag is still Innova. I've tried a lot of other disc brands, but always go back to trusty old Innova. Not to mention they still have the best discs. You can't deny they make some excellent plastic.

Both are releasing at their big toe. Also remember that Eagle just had major shoulder surgery, so his upright form could have led to some problems by adding strain to his delts/ rotatorcuff. Ricky is bent over putting less strain on his delts. Let's see a video of Sarah Holcomb/ Nate Sexton style!

So do you think we should use our abs active in a throw or not? Its pretty hard for me whenever teachers are talking about the core, 'use your core' Because i have tried it, and it gives me more power when im crunching my abs, but is it the right way, or should i try to keep abs as relaxed as possible?

Well put video man. I’ve been having issues with dumping my weight over the tee box. I’ll implement this is my practice. Also thinking of the plant foot, it would allow the pull through to come across the chest longer giving you that out-in-out snap.

I agree with you on the history of discs. Innova discs are the only ones I will continue to try to learn and throw even if they arent working for me at that time since I know so many amatuers and pros have used them and it just makes me more confident and comfortable on the course. That said they lack a good workhorse mid and throwing putter in my opinion. I use a Compass and Pa3 alongside Gator, Mako3, and Alpaca.

I'm new and only 3 weeks in. I'm not fast enough to throw anything higher than a 7. My main plays are a fairway driver, to a mid, then I worry about my approaching. This makes the most sense and has been what has allowed me to par more often than not. Mids are the most versatile discs, specifically due to their low speed and ability to hold angles during those slow speeds. I can't imagine how mundane and limited a game would be not having the ability to shape my shots on a wooded course.

This is a great video. I understand bracing now.. Trying to correct my form - I can. move forward and stop myself and feel the brace, I can do a stand still and rotate. Now I need a drill on how to transfer the energy - a drill of combining the brace, the stop and how to get the brace to move my arm around. I don't have it yet so I am just stopping and the energy is not flowing into twisting my torso and arm back around? any advice or seen any drill for this out there? Thanks!
